HK 2005 marks the beginning of 2006

Well, the footsteps of 2006 have finally reached us. It's great that 2005 is over. A rather forgettable year fer me. I'm now typing at half of my usual speed, cos my left hand fingers are kinda swollen. It's full of rashes and bubbles (wateva u call it) and it sure feels disgusting.

Alright this could be a rather long post. "could" because my fingers might just give up on me. So do bear with it.

Spent the last moments of 2005 at nic's place where we had a buffet dinner. V nice of the navy frens to come up with this, really appreciate it guys. Thanks so much. Had some drinks and somehow managed to dirty nic's toilet after the cup of lime juice. Coming to the topic of drinking, it seems that my body is telling me to give up drinking in every aspect now that I'm starting to get rashes. Oh well.... im jus weak eh.. *give up look*

Finally got to see matt for the first time in..... 5 mths? and guess what he did. Yes he slept on the couch right in front of the tv. The non-navy pple were watching Schindler's List while the rest played indian poker, laughing and screaming through the nite.

Hmm... yes guess its time that i blogged about my HK tour!

Aha... a very memorable trip indeed. And one that I'm very glad i embarked on cos I've not been travelling much for the past few yrs. It sure serves as a good warm-up to my SEP trip. Temperature's cool over there... ard 20 plus in the day, and maybe slightly below 20 in the night. Feels especially refreshing after having a hot bath in the hotel room and stepping out into the cool night breeze.... whoosh fantastic. The one bad thing that sorta disturbed many of us from day one was the polluted air all ard the city. It's kinda bad if u can imagine pple smoking in high-end restaurants. Not a very pleasant dining experience i would say.

Well as many pple would say, going to HK would just be to shop and eat all day long. Hmm... well we did covered a lot of distance on foot. But mostly doing window shopping. Besides those roadside stalls which sells "fake" stuff, most of the items are priced similar to that in Singapore. So, we really din know wat to buy and wat not to buy at first. In the end, I think hongkuan bot the most. The rest of us merely bot a handful of items. I got a nice and cheap Columbia jacket at less than 100 sing (thanks to jon's recomm), a disney shirt for my sis, and a port wine + Cafe Boheme at the airport. quite pathetic actually.... =p

The turning point of our trip is definitely the legendary "day trip" that the tour agency offered us. We had a chance to turn them down. But we din't. We had a chance to turn down the photo-taking services offered by Carlos without the "ass".... but we din't. We had a chance to at least bargain for a lower price but we din't. We were effectively 6 "brothers" who were being chopped mercilessly like the juciest carrots ard. Roberts we all were. It's probably the reason why i din't get myself a pair of shoes..... arghh....

Loved the night scene in HK. Bright neon lights, gigantic posters, eateries bustling with businesses, everyone seemed so alive at night.

Oh we were walking around at Lan Kwai Fong, this "holland v" type of hang-out nitespot. The atmostphere there was awesome! There were simply so many pretty ladies hanging ard. The game of "chais" lost its meaning at the very moment we step foot into the streets. And guess what, we saw mediacorp actress Fu Fang Ling there as well! I was first to spot her... she's like jus a few metres in front of me! ahhh i so regret not asking for her photo man.... shucks... she does look quite pretty in real life eh... oh man....

Spend half a day at disney as well. Felt disappointing tho... was expecting more.... To a person who has not even been to other disneys in L.A. or Tokyo, the fact that we only took less than an hour to cover the entire ground of the disneyland premises says it all. Its real small.

But i did enjoy the space mountain ride (which we took twice) as well as the philharmagic 3d show... the smell of the hotcakes and the sprinkling of waters all compliments well with the 3d grahics... this is smthin which i really don mind seeing it again.

All in all.... I really enjoyed this short trip to HK.... an experience that will bring back pleasant memories....

Alright, my fingers are really beginning to tire... ugly fat fingers.... yucks....
y am i so weak....
I wished I was stronger, for my heart desires greater heights.

Welcome 2006.
